Why didn’t my book appear on the blog?

Due to the volume of submissions, I can not blog about every book that comes in. After I read the books I donate them to our library so your book will be shared whether it appears on the blog or not.

Dear Anastasia Suen! Honored as can be that you are featuring my book, A DRIVE IN THE COUNTRY, on your site. So glad it helps demonstrate two of the six traits of writing. (Who knew they were counted! I just use ‘em all, if I can!) Admittedly, this book is both a personal poem for me, and one that I hope can be a universal experience. I used my “local” experiences as a way of suggesting and triggering local moments in the reader’s own. That’s the hope. Perhaps that’s one of the six traits? I remember when I was a younger reader that my biggest pleasure was reading a professional writer’s work (aka, a book), and suddenly seeing words that related to my own life, experience, observations, feelings. That sudden sense of being recongized, welcomed, authorized…well, I’m sure that’s what encouraged me to become a writer myself. It’s what I continue to value as a reader.
All good wishes from rural Ohio to your visitors and readers. I certainly know that “driving” plays a big part out there in Texas. MJR!

I’m so glad you found the blog! We also had Sunday drives when I was a child in Florida. I hope the blog readers will share your book with their students. I know I really enjoyed it!
