The Ninth Day of Christmas

It’s The Ninth Day of Christmas, so today I’m giving away a signed copy of my picture book Air Show.

I’ve been going to air shows since I was child. (My grandmother was a Rosie the Riveter lady. She put radiators in the P-51 Mustang.)

When our family moved to Dallas in 1993 we continued the air show tradition. One year I took notes during the air show at Love Field so I could write a book.

It took a while to figure out which planes to use – there are so many wonderful ones! I finally decided to use airplanes with insect and animal names. Then I could use the animal’s movements to describe the planes!
