Do Re Mi
The subtitle of Do Re Mi by Susan L. Roth summarizes the story: ”If You Can Read Music, Thank Guido d’Arezzo.”
Sometimes Guido tried to explain how easy it would be to learn to sing if only the music could be read instead of memorized.
“What’s wrong with memorizing?” asked Guido’s teacher. “This is the way my father taught me to sing.”
Teach the traits of conventions and ideas as students write about a conversation they had with someone who disagreed with their ideas.
