D Is for Drinking Gourd

D Is for Drinking Gourd
Nonfiction MondayD Is for Drinking Gourd: An African American Alphabet by Nancy I. Sanders (Author) and E. B. Lewis (Illustrator) covers every letter of the alphabet with a poem and facts about African American history…

F is for our Founding Fathers
in the day of the Constitution.
They helped win the war from British rule
in the American Revolution.

There were more than 5,000 black patriots fighting for independence in the American Revolution. African Americans fought in every major battle of the war.

Teach the traits of organization and conventions as students write their own alphabet history book.

Hi Anastasia, I did a post on our non-fiction book(s) today but I still can’t seem to e-mail you. I think if I had your actual e-mail address then I could cut and paste into my e-mail but it just won’t load from your link for some reason.

Anyway, here is my post http://dumboxacademy.homeschooljournal.net/2008/02/04/facts-first-nonfiction-monday-2/
